Stainless steel splashbacks
Stainless steel splashbacks are so useful in domestic kitchens compared with tiled walls which can easily get knocked and damaged and also the grout between the tiles is very difficult to keep clean and hygienic. I have seen many kitchens where wall tiles have been painted to try and make them more hygienic, but this can be a problem as the paint can peel off easily if the surface is not properly prepared. Grease and consequent discolouration of the grout is unhygienic, but splashbacks are the obvious answer to this problem and are very practical. The splashback surface is smooth and easy to wipe down and, of course, highly resistant to heat. After cooking, most grease marks and cooking splashes can simply be wiped away with a cloth and warm water.

Durability is another steel characteristic; stainless copes extremely well with everyday kitchen use. Unaffected by steam from kettles or pans, it doesn't crack or shatter in the way some glass splashbacks.
Appearance… although some people still associate stainless steel with restaurant kitchens, modern brushed finishes work very well in domestic settings. It can look equally at home against wooden drawer fronts and cabinet doors or next to painted kitchen cabinets.
A brushed stainless finish considerably reduces reflections and gives a much more useful surface than polished steel. Existing stainless steel users will notice that stainless steel ages naturally. When you get small marks on the splashback surface, with simple correct maintenance, these tiny marks frequently blend into the grain rather than standing out dramatically. Instead of looking worn, the material tends to develop a patina, a more lived-in appearance, and actually adds to the character of the splashback over time.
We receive many enquiries from customers who, having had stainless splashbacks before but have moved home, again want to install them in their new kitchen.
